A unique experience for young and old.

Whatever the weather, the Salt Mine Bad Friedrichshall is an unforgettable experience for big and small explorers alike. After only 30 seconds of descent in a pit cage to a depth of 180 metres, you will experience the fascinating world of the "white gold", some 200 million years old.

Here, in the middle of vast underground chambers in these real former salt mining sites, modern presentation techniques are used to illustrate the diverse history of salt and the mining technology that has seen huge changes over the decades.

In addition to spectacular media and laser installations, underground you can discover many interesting facts about salt, conduct interactive experiments and trigger an impressive show yourself. Past and present meet at attractive information stations.

Particularly impressive is one of the world's largest mining machines, which is clearly presented in the salt mine. At the end of the tour, you can feel like a miner of yesteryear on a 40 meter long slide in the grandiose domed hall with its salt reliefs.
