Families and small groups are welcome to visit the mine without booking in advance.

No, there are no guided tours underground. It is a self-explanatory tour with interactive stations and various media.

The tour of the salt mine takes approximately 2 hours.

Free parking for cars and buses is available on site.

Special tours outside our regular opening hours are not possible, as we are still an active mining operation.

The underground areas of the visitor mine in Bad Friedrichshall cannot be booked for events such as business or private functions.

This applies both during regular mine tour days and for planned special openings, as we are still an active mining operation.

We do not offer standard ‘vouchers’. However, you do have the option of purchasing tickets for a visit to the salt mine from us and giving them as gifts to others.

Tickets are available during normal opening hours directly at the ticket office on site, or you can order them in advance by email (info@salzwelt.de).

If you would like to order tickets in advance, please let us know the number of tickets you require (for example, two adults, two children, one family ticket, etc.) along with your billing address. In addition to the ticket prices, a handling and postage fee will apply.

The temperature underground is about 18°C.

We recommend that you wear sturdy footwear when you visit the mine.

You can stop off at our Bergschänke before or after your descent into the mine shaft to enjoy hot meals, coffee and cake.

You can also visit the Bergschänke without going down into the salt mine. You can book a table directly with the Bergschänke team on +49 7136 271-3285.

No, it is not possible to take animals into the underground world.

Yes, the underground tour is equipped for disabled visitors and can therefore be accessed by wheelchair or pram. 

You are welcome to bring your own wheelchair or other mobility aids. It is not possible to hire them on site.

A disabled WC is located above ground.

In principle, babies, pregnant women and people with pacemakers are also permitted to visit the mine, provided there are no health restrictions or concerns. However, we are unable to provide any medical advice on this matter.

If you have any questions, it is best to consult your doctor in advance.

Yes, baby changing facilities are available above ground.
