Do I have to pre-book a visit with a larger group?

Groups of 20+ require a pre-booking.


Do guided tours also take place in the salt mine?

No, there are no guided tours underground. It is a self-explanatory tour with interactive stations and various media.


Can I pay for admission tickets or souvenirs with a debit or credit card?

No, it is not possible to pay by credit or debit card at the entrance or in the shop.  


Where can I park?

Free parking for cars and buses is available on site.


Where can I get food and drink nearby?

You can fill up at the Bergschänke.


How much time should I allow for the tour?

The tour of the salt mine takes approximately 2 hours.  


What is the temperature underground?

The temperature underground is about 18°C.


What clothing is most suitable to wear?

We recommend that you wear sturdy footwear when you visit the mine.


Can I bring my dog with me?

No, we regret you cannot take animals into the underground world.


Is the salt mine also accessible with a wheelchair?

Yes, the underground tour is equipped for disabled visitors and can therefore be accessed by wheelchair. A disabled WC is located above ground.


Are there any baby changing facilities?

Yes, baby changing facilities are available above ground.
