Bergknappenkapelle (miners’ band)
The Bergknappenkapelle Berchtesgaden was founded in 1825 and now has nearly 200 years of emotional musical tradition.
It consists of members of the Marktmusik Berchtesgaden band, led by the drum major, an employee of the salt mine. The Bergknappenkapelle attends numerous festivities to provide classical and contemporary music for brass.
